Corerain Artificial Intelligence Application Innovation Institute was initiated by Prof. Wayne Luk, the authority of artificial intelligence on custom computing, Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and Co-founder of Corerain Technologies. Based on Corerain's emerging streaming technologies of AI chips, the research institute aims to set up the first open platform which lowers the development barrier of customizable hardware-based AI applications in various domains. The institute is positioned to establish an artificial intelligence industrialization technology platform to support the latest AI technologies deploying quickly and effectively, and to fill the voids of the hardware. The technology platform will work in synergy with open application platforms, such as automatic driving, smart city, medical imaging, to provide fundamental computing resources. It will accelerate the development of AI ecosystems with domestic independent intellectual properties, and integrate the resources from the top universities and leading AI industries worldwide. The ecosystem also utilizes industrial funding to establish an integrated platform for research, production, and financing.

Corerain and Imperial College's Custom Computing Research Group collaborate in research on hardware and software for artificial intelligence applications; Corerain also provides scholarships for doctoral students at Imperial College.
An Artificial Intelligence Integrated Circuit Security joint laboratory has been established, focusing on artificial intelligence security and application researchs, to conduct scientific research and industrial application in the field of decentralized security system, chip IP protection, and chip design vulnerability screening, and to jointly carry out artificial intelligence courses to cultivate talents in the field.
An Artificial Intelligence Integrated Circuit and Information Security joint laboratory has been established, focusing on the field of artificial intelligence chips and information security, carrying out industrial application projects, scientific research projects and personnel training cooperation, using artificial intelligence to improve security information assurance capabilities and achieve controllable information security.
