PetroChina Changqing Oilfield Company is headquartered in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. It is mainly engaged in the exploration, development, production, storage and transportation, and sales of oil, gas and associated resources in the Ordos Basin. Its working area stretches across 15 cities and 61 counties (districts and banners) in five provinces (autonomous regions), namely Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia and Shanxi, covering an exploration and development area of 200,000 square kilometers. Currently, Changqing Oilfield Company has 13 oil production units, 8 gas production units, 3 oil transportation units, as well as other scientific research, production auxiliary and mining area service units. The total workforce is over 70,000.

Frequent Oil Safety Accidents

Owing to the flammable and explosive characteristics of the products, strengthenning production safety management is the focus of government departments, oilfield enterprises, and industry professionals currently.

Application Solution

The pilot project of the "Safety Eyes Project" is implemented in Changqing Oilfield, the largest oil and gas field in China. Corerain provides an integrated solution for A video analysis. It conducts all-weather and all-round intelligent control over drilling sites, production stations and construction sites, and realizes interconnection with relevant systems to achieve intelligent full coverage of safety management in business scenarios, laying a foundation for comprehensively promoting digital transformation and intelligent development.

The project accesses 600 video channels of Changqing Oilfield and deploys 12 deep learning algorithm functions including safety hat detection, work uniform detection, reflective vest detection, phone call detection, danger area intrusion recognition, oil leakage recognition, smoking detection, animal intrusion detection, open flame recognition, smoke recognition, engineering vehicle recognition, and personnel absence recognition. It provides affordable hardware, reliable algorithms and a safety risk intelligent control platform. This platform can display real-time video streams, statistics of alarm data, and locate safety hazard points, establishing a digital barrier for safety risk control in Changqing Oilfield.

Implementation results

7*24 all-weather security analysis, alert in seconds and rapid positioning of problem floors are realized throught AI.

Centralized visual safety supervision of key areas such as production sites, entrances and exits, crude oil storage areas are realized based on AI image recognition technology and 600 channels of videos accessing the field for an early warning on potential accidents in the first time.

Visualized AI center is established to view and analyze alarm results in real time, transforming from an after-checking mode under traditional methods to an intelligent management mode of pre-warning and improving the intelligence level of oilfields.
