Consult NowAs is widely recognized, food safety is a top priority for people‘s wellbeing and an inviolable lifeline for brands. Any safety incident can instantly erode consumer trust in food and beverage brands, causing incalculable losses. Production safety, meanwhile, is the fundamental safeguard for employees’ lives and the cornerstone of stable factory operations.
Shanghai Ezaki Glico Foods Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan‘s Ezaki Glico Co., Ltd. in China. Founded in 1995, the company owns well-known snack brands including Pocky, Pejoy, and Pretz. It operates two intelligent food production factories in Shanghai’s Minhang and Fengxian districts and was selected as one of the “Top 50 Enterprises in China‘s Light Industry Food Sector for 2024.”Against the backdrop of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s push for digital transformation in the consumer goods industry, the “Digital Three Products” initiative—covering digital product variety expansion, digital quality improvement, and digital brand building—has become a critical pathway for high-quality development in the food sector. Corerain‘s project for Glico, titled “Intelligent Early Warning Empowering Food Safety Trusted Traceability,” was successfully selected for the MIIT’s “2025 Typical Digital Transformation Cases (Digital Three Products Direction)” list.

Based on its self-developed reconfigurable dataflow AI chip, the CAISA 430, Corerain built a fully integrated intelligent video analytics system for Glico’s factories. In stairwell areas, the system deploys dual detection zones to precisely identify workers’ hand movements and positions. If it determines that a worker has not held the handrail throughout the entire ascent or descent, an IP audio speaker issues an alert within one second, while a pop-up notification appears simultaneously on the platform. For the lint removal procedure, the system uses dual cameras capturing footage from both the front and back. Through a three-layer algorithm stack—human body detection, multi-target tracking, and behavior recognition—it determines in real time whether operators have correctly completed the six steps: head, shoulders, arms, chest, back, and legs. If steps are performed in the wrong order or the total time falls below the standard, the system immediately triggers voice reminders and tiered alert push notifications, ensuring issues are corrected and closed out at the earliest possible moment. The system automatically generates structured electronic records of all operations, integrating them into the food safety traceability system, forming a modern management model of "intelligent monitoring + data traceability + full-process trackability + closed-loop management."
Production line procedures and process rules are not static. Today the system needs to recognize handrail holding and lint removal; tomorrow it may need to expand to rodent prevention, fly control, and foreign object intrusion detection. If the underlying computing architecture lacks agile reconfigurability, adding or replacing an algorithm would require re-adaptation or even hardware replacement—a heavy burden for enterprises and a barrier to long-term digital and intelligent transformation. Corerain's CAISA architecture offers strong general-purpose computing capabilities, and its comprehensive toolchain and software support rapid expansion—beyond vision, the platform supports deployments of large models, OpenClaw, agents, and other applications, enabling long-term agile iteration, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement.Built on the CAISA reconfigurable dataflow architecture, the chip achieves a utilization rate of up to 95.4%. At just one-third the cost of comparable products, it delivers over 4.12 times the measured performance of traditional GPU solutions at equivalent concurrency densities, significantly reducing total cost of ownership.
